We present to you the crinkle cake , new folie from TikTok! the prince? A cake with oriental notes , derived from a Turkish dessert called the 'Sarığı Burma tatlısı'. Super easy to follow, this recipe has the added advantage of only including ingredients that you already have in your kitchen! As a bonus, it can be a great idea to recipe for ramadan to vary from the usual pastries.

Crinkle cake ingredients

You will have been warned: the crinkle cake recipe is (very) tasty! The amounts of butter and sugar may surprise most people, but that's what will give a caramelized taste to your dessert , so be careful if you reduce them... Here are the necessary ingredients:

  • A packet of pâte filo
  • 220g of melted butter
  • 240g of milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 200g of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla flavor

For the syrup:

  • 200g of sugar
  • 240g of water

The stages of the crinkle cake

Before you start, consider preheating your oven to 180 degrees. Then allow 50 minutes of cooking in total. Here are the steps of the crinkle cake recipe:

  1. Cut the filo sheets to match the length of your dish. Crumple them two by two and arrange them as in the video above. Bake for 10 minutes. Add your melted butter evenly. Bake again for 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare your cream by mixing the eggs, milk, sugar and aroma. Once out of the oven, add this mixture to your dish. Finally, bake for 30-40 minutes (depending on your oven and the dish chosen).
  3. Meanwhile, prepare your syrup by placing the water and sugar in a saucepan.

All you have to do is put the syrup on the cake and let it cool, before tasting it!
