Everybody talks about it. Beautystas can't live without it. Focus on the most rated facial cleanser of recent years.
Micellar water has long been confined to the backstage of fashion shows. Today, it sits enthroned in the bathrooms of beauty addicts. More and more brands (Avène, Nuxe, Jonzac, Bioderma...) include it among their references. Magazines and blogs keep talking about it. Why so much enthusiasm around this product? Deciphering a trend facial care which has the wind in its sails.
Here is what is hidden behind this somewhat mysterious name. L' micellar water is an aqueous solution in which particles called micelles are suspended. They are composed of surfactant molecules, that is to say having a hydrophilic head and a hydrophobic chain. Thanks to these particles, micellar water catches dirt (make-up, dust, sebum, etc.) that settles on the surface of the skin. This makes it a delicate cleanser for the eyes and for the face.
The benefits of micellar water? First, 'speed and ease', explains Joëlle Nonni, head of skin health education workshops at Avène. To remove make-up, simply apply the lotion to the face using a soaked cotton ball. Normally, this type of product does not require rinsing. But if you have very dry skin, it is better to 'pass thermal water on the face to complete the cleaning', recommends our expert. Also beware of waterproof products: being very concentrated in water, micellar lotions are not always effective with this type of makeup...
1 time stage
Start with the make-up removal eyes. Take a cotton. Soak it in micellar water, then place it gently on the eye. Apply light pressure to fully penetrate the product, then gently remove excess makeup from the inside of the eye to the outside to avoid irritation. Repeat the gesture as many times as necessary by changing cotton . Then, open the eye to remove make-up from the lower lashes.
2nd step
Lip make-up removal. Soak the cotton pad in micellar water then lay it on the lips to gently remove the lipstick . Perform movements from inside to outside. Now move on to complexion makeup removal. Same operation, soak a cotton ball in micellar water and remove make-up from the cheeks, forehead, nose and chin by making gestures from the inside out, without forgetting the neck. Your make-up removal will be finished when there is no longer any trace of make-up on the cotton pad.
3 and stage
Finish make-up removal with a mist of thermal water , then dab the face with a tissue for clean, soft and velvety skin to the touch.
'How to use micellar water'Micellar water is suitable for all skin types. But it is especially women with fragile skin who love it. Because this product is respectful of the skin and allows a gentle make-up removal. Not to mention that its freshness is very pleasant. In any case, there are some precautions to take. 'If you have the sensitive skin , be careful not to rub the face too much', says Joëlle Nonni. 'Do as Asian women do: wedge the cotton pad between the index and the little finger'. This will allow you to press it with the flat of your fingers and to glide it more gently over the face. Can you buck the trend?
