Meghan Markle lied to (encore)... selon le petit-fils de Nelson Mandela

The world definitely does not seem ready to grant a few minutes' respite to Meghan Markle . While she has just spoken in the prestigious magazine The Cut , she would obviously have done better to abstain. Prince Harry's wife has just been pinned down by Nelson Mandela's grandson to whom the Daily Mail gave the floor on September 1. Zwelivelile 'Mandla' Mandela was not kind to the Duchess who he claims lied during her interview .

'The release of Madiba can never be compared to the celebration of someone's marriage'

In the columns of The Cut , Prince Harry's wife claimed to have been congratulated on her marriage by Lebohang Morake, the composer of the Roi Lion , at the premiere of the long-awaited film in 2019. According to the American, the latter would have even gone so far as to compare his union with the release of Nelson Mandela. ' I just wish you knew, when you got married to this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same as when Mandela was released from prison ' , he would have told her.

Read here? According to Zwelivelile 'Mandla' Mandela, grandson of Nelson Mandela, nothing like this has ever come out of the artist's mouth . Asked by the Daily Mail this September 1, Madiba's grandson claimed that Meghan Markle lied.

'It can never be compared to celebrating someone's wedding' , he began. Before continuing : 'Madiba's celebration was based on overcoming 350 years of colonialism with 60 years of a brutal apartheid regime in South Africa. So it cannot be equated with the same thing' .

And to add: 'In my memory, no one would have known when she got married, when, or what. We had no South African connection to the wedding or to her marriage to Harry. I'm really surprised by that. For me it's a non-event ' . Very angry, the South African then advised the Duchess to focus on other issues. 'For the personality that she is, she can do a lot of good in the world community by adopting the causes defended by Madiba' , he concluded.

Meghan Markle : a simple 'faux-pas' ?

If, for now, Meghan Markle did not react to these remarks, said composer, Lebohang Morake, also expressed his astonishment . 'Indeed, I was at the premiere of The Lion King 2019 and I met the members of the royal family. I can't comment on the case because it was three years ago and I don't remember the details of this conversation which lasted less than a minute ' , he confided.

But, for John Kani, a former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company who lent his voice to Rafiki in the film The Lion King , the mother of Archie and Lilibet should be wary of what she says in the press. 'I'm baffled. I'm the only South African in the cast. I play Rafiki, Seth Rogen plays Pumbaa, Donald Glover plays Simba and Beyonce plays Nala' , he listed in the Mail Online last September 1, adding then that Harry and Meghan's nuptials hadn't been 'a major event' in his country . All the same, he showed himself to be a diplomat by evoking a simple 'misstep' by Meghan Markle.
