Linda Evangelista poses for Vogue after her failed surgery

Featured in one of the ' September Issue ' from British Vogue  is the holy grail of all models . The back-to-school edition of the fashion bible edited by Edward Enninful has this year banked on an iconic supertop: cute evangelist . A return to the front of the fashion scene for the Canadian born in 1965, who had been discreet in recent years because of a failed cosmetic surgery .

In September 2021, she explained on her Instagram account: 'To my fans who were wondering why my career had stalled, I was actually disfigured by Zeltiq's Coolsculpting procedure.' An intervention that earned him long months of absence. But Linda Evangelista is back on track  and pose for the British Vogue dressed in the greatest designers, saying in passing: ' I try to love myself as I am '.

A shoot as an act of (re)birth

In addition to a cover shot by Steven Meisel where she appears dressed all in red in a fleece jacket signed Dolce & Gabbana, Linda Evangelista appears in an ensemble Chanel in tweed and in a pastel pink outfit Fendi. On each look, the model wears a hat and a scarf coordinated with her silhouette, as if to camouflage the contours of her face.

This is not his first shoot since his return to the media scene. Kim Jones, artistic director of the Fendi house, has already called on the supertop for one of its campaigns last July. However, Linda Evangelista, in an interview with the British Vogue , is cautious about the future: ' I miss my job so much, but honestly, what can I do? You won't see me [to pose] in a bathing suit, that's for sure '. Ageism and the still relative diversity of bodies in the fashion world could effectively prevent him from obtaining certain contracts. Fortunately, things are moving; slowly, but they are moving. Models in their fifties, with disabilities, round, fat or size 40, the catwalks are more inclusive than ever. So, will Linda Evangelista walk the runway during Spring/Summer 2023 Fashion Week, which begins in New York on September 9? We hope so!
