What could be more pleasant than a picnic in the middle of nature when the beautiful days are (finally) pointing the tip of their nose? To enjoy as it should be, Laurent Mariotte give us this favorite recipe for picnics : the Piedmontese salad! Made with potatoes, tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, ham and pickles, all linked to the mayonnaise is greedy and ideal for regaining strength after an outing in the fresh air.

The ingredients to make Laurent Mariotte's Piedmontese salad

To give lightness to mayonnaise, Laurent Mariotte incorporates cottage cheese and a bit of mustard, to liven things up. Here are the ingredients to serve approximately 6 persons .

  • 600g new potatoes
  • 1 thick slice of ham (300 g) or 1 small cooked ham
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 Malossol pickles (sweet and sour)
  • 1 branch of cherry tomatoes
  • 200 g d' emmental
  • 3 branches of persil
  • 1/2 bunch of chives
  • 1 case of old-fashioned mustard
  • 200 g whole cream cheese
  • 3 cases of olive oil
  • Fine gray salt, ground pepper, coarse gray salt

The steps to make Laurent Mariotte's Piedmontese salad

For this recipe, count approximately 30 minutes prep and 25 minutes cook . Don't forget that the potatoes always cook by starting in cold water. Only then will you achieve even cooking.

  1. Wash the potatoes and immerse them in a pan of cold salted water . Allow 20 minutes to cook from boiling.
  2. In a salad bowl, mix the cottage cheese with the mustard , olive oil and season. Cut the potatoes into slices above the salad bowl.
  3. Hard boil the eggs. Once cooled, cut them into cubes.
  4. Cut the pickles into slices and grate the emmental cheese with a large-hole grater.
  5. Cut the ham (or ham) in cubes and the Cherry tomatoes in two.
  6. Gather everyone in the bowl and mix well.

Book cool in an airtight container while waiting for the departure for the picnic!
