On August 23, 2012, Jean-Luc Delarue left us, swept away by stomach cancer, at the age of 48. Ten years later, the memory of the animator-producer is still vivid.
Radio, presentation of TV shows, production of documentaries... The media held no secrets for Jean-Luc Delarue. In 25 years, this Parisian by birth has become a key figure in the PAF .
After a brilliant debut at the age of 23 on Europe 1, where he hosted the Top 50 with Yvan Le Bolloc'h, Jean-Luc Delarue knows the good old days of Canal +. From 1991, he was the head of the 'Big family' . Even though 1994 marks the end of this popular show, this year rhymes with consecration : at only 30 years old, the ambitious animator creates his production company, Prod tank , and throws 'It is discussed' on France 2.
The success is immediate. From 1994 to 2009, the host shone on the small screen every Wednesday evening, listening to people's problems. He likes it a lot , especially to housewives thanks to his appearance as an ideal son-in-law and his empathy.
Jean-Luc Delarue also manages his producer cap brilliantly. He signs reports for M6, France 3 or France 2, produces programs for TF1, Canal + and public channels, launches talents like Evelyne Thomas ('It's my choice') or even Stephane Plaza ('Search apartment or house')... In other words: the man is a media genius !
End of the 90s, beginning of the 2000s, on TV or behind the scenes of the PAF, impossible to miss Jean-Luc Delarue. Insatiable, the Parisian born on June 24, 1964 even opened a restaurant in Paris (Le Nobu)! In 2008, his salary even reached the 40,000 euros per month .
His extraordinary daily life makes his head spin. By dint of rubbing shoulders with the heights of celebrity, Jean-Luc Delarue loses his footing. Even though 2006 is the year of the birth of his son Jean, born of his love with host and journalist Elisabeth Bost, it is also the year of decline .
The president of Reservoir Prod is condemned for his way of managing his employees. The differences he makes between his employees displease, his way of managing is openly criticized. In his private life, Jean-Luc Delarue is also confusing. 2007 : the host loses control of himself in an airplane (he insulted, bit and slapped a steward and touched the breasts of a flight attendant). He gets a citizenship course .
The troubles continue beginning 2008 , when his production company suffered a tax adjustment . In 2009 , It is deprived of live by France Television following an incident during the Crystal Globes ceremony.
But her life really changes the morning of September 14, 2010 when he is arrested and taken into custody as part of an investigation into an important drug trafficking. The image of the ideal son-in-law fades in the space of a few hours. Jean-Luc Delarue now appears as a big consumer of cocaine , buying thousands of euros of 'white' per month.
For years, first in 'It's discussed' then in 'A whole story', the host looked like a psychologist, listening to the most intimate problems of hundreds of people and advising them... The roles are now reversed, the myth is broken.
Jean-Luc Delarue still finds the strength to bounce back despite the humiliation. He decides to redeem his behavior by spreading the good word. No more Parisian parties, cocaine orgies behind the scenes... The gentleman takes over and creates the Corporate Foundation Reservoir . Objective: to fight against all forms of addiction. After making a mea culpa in public, Jean-Luc Delarue launches into a Tour de France in camping car to inform young people in high schools about the risks of dope .
But his desire to win back the hearts of the French will unfortunately be stopped dead. the December 2, 2011 , he announced during a press conference on France Télévision that he was suffering from a stomach and peritoneal cancer . Since then, the host was very discreet. Jean-Luc Delarue offered himself a last moment of happiness on May 12: he married his partner, Anissa Khel, in his property in Belle-île-en-mer. Jean-Luc Delarue took his last breath on the night of August 23 to 24 in a Parisian hospital at the age of 48.
Brilliant, gifted, humorous, attentive, ambitious... The compliments are not lacking to qualify the media man. We will especially remember of a life at 100 per hour , the desire to always go faster and further, a race against time... which he unfortunately lost.
