The themes for the Bocuse d'Or 2023 final, which will take place at the end of January in Lyon, have been revealed. A test will aim in particular to make the youngest aware of eating well.
The January 22 and 23, 2023, Lyon will once again host the Bocuse d'Or final. This year, 24 countries will be vying for the coveted title.
A few weeks before the grand finale, the candidates have finally discovered all the proposed themes. If we already knew that the platter theme would do honor to the monkfish , the Bocuse d'Or organizing committee has just unveiled a second event named 'Feed the kids' (feed the children) where each team will have to produce a squash menu for children . Several varieties will be made available to them and candidates will have to prepare a vegetable cold starter, a hot dish including an egg and a dessert in the spirit of those served in the restaurant . Textures, flavors, colors... The participants will have to use their imagination to convince the jury, supported for the occasion by children from all over the world. 'The Bocuse d'Or seeks above all to agree with the current societal issues . After the takeaway event in 2021, this year we have decided to highlight education in healthy eating for children. Our first tastes are formed from an early age, so culinary education is a key issue in which cooks play a central role', assured Régis Marcon, president of the International Organizing Committee of the Bocuse d'Or.
Institute graduate Paul Bocuse , Naïs Pirollet is the French candidate for the Bocuse d'Or this year. She had already been part of Team France since 2020 alongside Davy Tissot, the last winner of the Bocuse d'Or in September 2021 in Lyon. The young woman thus takes over by largely winning the national selections, then by qualifying for the Bocuse d'Or Europe in Budapest. Denmark won the Bocuse d'Or Europe, which was held on March 23 and 24, 2022 in Budapest, Hungary. As always, several special prizes were awarded during this ceremony. The award for best clerk went to Thilda Mårtensson of the Swedish team. This same team also won the 'theme on set' award.
