Andie MacDowell took advantage of a recent interview to dismiss the dictates of ageism and give his opinion on gray hair. Inspiring!

At almost 65 years old, Andie MacDowell is determined to assume her age and this passes, again and again, by her hair. Follower of the natural, the actress has given up coloring since 2021 and intends to continue to wear her graying hair. This is what she reaffirmed in a video interview broadcast on the Youtube channel of the American journalist Katie Couric.

Andie MacDowell speaks out against youthism

If we knew her as a brunette, today Andie MacDowell proudly displays her grey hair . ' I do not care. I want to be old. I'm tired of trying to be young. I don't wanna be young . I was young. And [getting old] is a lot of effort. I already work hard enough to keep my figure, take care of my body, nourish my skin, exercise my brain. What else can I do? I can't continue the masquerade .' confides the actress who assumes aging and even makes it a strength: ' I really thought it would be fine with me. And that's the case. When [my gray hair] grew, my eyes popped out. Their color seemed a little different. I loved that my skin looked better. They gave me a sense of power. I felt more powerful, more authentic, and more myself '.

When the stars assume their gray hair

For some time now, the stars have started a real hair revolution! Especially in Hollywood where more and more of them are loudly claiming gray hair, despite social pressure. Sarah Jessica Parker, Eva Longoria or even Letizia from Spain no longer feel the need to hide their white roots, or even their hair entirely salt and pepper for Jamie Lee Curtis, Jane Fonda, Helen Mirren and of course Andie MacDowell. An initiative that does good and which, we hope, will put an end to the dictates of youth.
